Lee Peters was born Mary Elizabeth Loftus on June 12, 1918 in Illinois. She came from poverty and later in her life wrote about
Christmases without a christmas tree and with no presents. Her father was a coal miner and the family, like most others, struggled
to make ends meet during the great depression.
At age 18 Lee moved to Los Angeles, California. She met and married Eddie
Peters. Soon afterwards their son Stephen was born. Karen followed a couple of years later and after some time Casey and
then Michael were born.
In 1955 Eddie was killed in a car wreck. At 36 Lee was widowed and left to raise her 4 children
alone. Stephen was 17, Karen 15, Casey 2 years 9 months and Michael 11 months.
LEE BOUGHT HER HOUSE
In 1957 Lee received
a settlement from Eddie's death and used the money for a downpayment on a 2500 sq. ft. 5 bed house in the mid-Wilshire neighborhood
of Los Angeles.
Lee worked very hard and often struggled to make her mortgage payments. At times she took in boarders
to help make the house payments.
LEE'S CAREER
Lee befriended Dorothy Rogers who worked as a costumer for the movie and television
industry. Dorothy got Lee a job as a set girl. Lee was soon a costumer herself. She dressed Farrah Fawcett and the
other Angels in the first season of Charlies Angels. Amongst Lee's other credits were "Family Ties", "Harry O", "The Wild Wild
West", "The Love Boat", "Laverne and Shirley".
LEE FINDS HAPPINESS AGAIN
In 1969 Lee married fellow dancer, Jack
Green. Lee was 50 and Jack 18 years her junior.
TRAGEDY STRUCK
In 1982 Lee's best friend and only daughter, Karen died
of a brain anurysm at age 41. Karen left behind 3 teenage daughters and her 3 year old son, whose father was no longer around.
Lee took orphaned Justin to Stephen and asked him and his wife, Kathryn Pruessner, to raise his dead sister's son. Stephen said
no and Kathryn kicked Lee out of her house. Lee was angry with Stephen for turning his back on his family and decided to disinherit
her oldest son. In 1989 Lee made her last Will when she was of sound mind. She left her entire estate to her 2 younger
sons, Casey and Michael and left the family piano to Stephen. She named her husband, Jack as executor and Casey as alternate.
Lee kept her relationship with Kathryn Pruessner at a distance.
ALZHEIMERS DISEASE AND NEUROLOGICAL BLINDENESS
Lee began
to struggle with her vision. She continued working into her 70s so she would be fully vested in the Motion Picture and Television
Medical Fund. Her medical care for the rest of her life was free.
October 1994 a medical report stated that Lee was
displaying "dementia like symptoms".
January 1996, Neutrologist, Dr. Lancelot Alexander diagnosed Lee with Alzheimers
disease and neutrological blindness. Lee's dementia had attacked her visual cortex and stopped her from seeing. Dr. Alexander
reported "Her memory has become quite poor, particularly when she is under any kind of stress or scrutiny. Her comprehension
of written material and of complex spoken instructions appear to be diminished. She appears to be losing some of her native
intelligence."
June 1997 Lee scored just 16/30 in the Folstein Mini Mental State Exam, showing significant mental impairment.
Gerentologist, Dr. Robert Waxler reported "do not leave alone", and later reported that Lee lacked capacity to conduct estate
planning at this time.
SIGNING OF COMPLEX LEGAL DOCUMENTS
Lee's dementia had caused the breakdown of her 28 year
marriage to Jack. Because she could not remember where she put things she accused Jack of stealing from her and yelled
at him to leave.
On the day that Jack was leaving, Nora Hamill (a lawyer friend of Michael Peters) presented Jack
with a quit-claim that relinquished his rights to Lee's house. After Jack signed the document and left, Nora Hamill and
Michael Peters used trickery, conning and lying to gain Lee's signature on a myriad of complex legal documents, telling Lee "you have
to sign here to protect yourself from Jack". Lee signed. Hamill and her lawyer had created a trust in Lee's name, they
voided the last will Lee had made when she was of sound mind, they created a new will, a power of attorney for asset management and
nomination of conservator. Hamill's documents empowered herself and Lee's daughter-in-law from HELL, Kathryn Pruessner Peters.
CASEY
PETERS BECOMES FULL TIME CARE PROVIDER
As Lee could not be left alone, her 2nd son, Casey gave up his career and his own home
and with the approval of his brothers and their partners, moved back into Lee's house to provide 24/7 care.
SELF APPOINTED TRUSTEES
PROVIDED NO ACCOUNTING
Nora Hamill and Kathryn Pruessner Peters immediately seized control of Lee's unencumbered house, her life
savings and her retirement income.
After a year of no accounting from Hamill and Pruessner, Lee consulted attorney Burton Popkoff
as she attempted to revoke the trust she did not want.
Hamill threatened Lee with a full conservatorship if she tried to revoke
the fraudulent trust. Against her will, Lee was forced to live with Nora Hamill and Kathryn Pruessner Peters (2 women she disliked)
controlling her money.
MARILYN JOINS LEE'S HOUSEHOLD
December 2002 Casey and Lee traveled to Australia to visit
a bereaved friend. While there Casey met Marilyn, they fell in love and soon after Casey and Lee returned to the US, Marilyn
arrived.
As Casey and Marilyn's love grew so did Lee and Marilyn's friendship and in December 2003 Casey and Marilyn eloped
in Reno, Nevada. Lee now had 2 doting caregivers who loved her.
HAMILL WANTS TO INSTITUTIONALIZE LEE PETERS AND SELL HER
HOUSE
June 2003 a passing realtor appraised Lee Peters' house at $600,000.
February and March 2004 two of Lee's neighbors
houses, comparable to hers, sold for $970,000.
April 2004 Nora Hamill concocted a plan to institutionalize Lee, sell her house
while the market was high, set aside $100,000 for Lee's institutionalization and divide the rest per the 1997 Will Hamill had created.
Nora Hamill's "boyfriend", Michael Peters and Kathryn Pruessner Peters' husband, Stephen would receive circa $600,000. In the
last will Lee had made when she was of sound mind, she disinherited Stephen but the Will created by Nora Hamill gave him 20% of her
estate.
But Lee did not agree with Hamill's plan. Lee was adamant - SHE DID NOT WANT TO BE INSTITUTIONALIZED AND SHE DID
NOT WANT HER HOUSE SOLD.
FILING FOR CONSERVATORSHIP
April 23, 2004 Nora Hamill, Michael Peters, Stephen Peters and Kathryn
Pruessner Peters pounded on Lee's front door, yelling at her to get out and falsely claiming ownership of her house. When Lee
refused to open the door to them, they turned the water supply off to her house. It was 9pm.
When Casey later phoned Kathryn
to discuss the situation, Kathryn responded "don't call me, call my lawyer". Casey was shocked to learn that his siblings had
engaged a lawyer.
May 2004 Casey filed a petition with the probate court to become the conservator of Lee's person only.
This would allow him to decide where Lee would live. Hamill and Pruessner would still control the money.
Casey was unaware
of the existence of Hamill's fraudulent Nomination of Conservatorship document.
The court appoints John T. Rogers Jr. to "protect
the interests of Lee Peters". Rogers met with Lee once, for 20 in her home in May 2004. He promised Lee that he would
protect your right to live at home.
FORGERY, THEFT OF SOCIAL SECURITY AND THEFT OF REAL PROPERTY
April 2004, Nora Hamill
used forgery on a check in the amount of $10,000 to steal from Lee Peters' IRA. Hamill and Pruessner used these funds to
pay their lawyer in their fight against Lee.
May, June, July 2004 Hamill and Pruessner withheld Lee's Social Security checks
in their attempt to starve Lee from her home.
August 2004 Lee Peters signed notorized letters before independent witnesses, addressed
to Nora Hamill and Kathryn Pruessner, dismissing them as trustees. In response, Hamill and Pruessner removed Lee's name from
the title of her house. Lee had held the title since 1957. Hamill and Pruessner signed a grantor deed to themselves and
paid no money for the million dollar property. Lee Peters' signature did not appear on the grantor deed.
HON. JUDGE THOMAS
STOEVER PROTECTS LEE PETERS
June 2004, Judge Thomas Stoever ruled that Lee Peters should remain living at home under the care
of Casey and Marilyn Peters and that Michael Peters, Stephen Peters, Kathryn Pruessner Peters and Nora Hamill should NOT be given
keys to Lee Peters' house.
A settlement agreement was then reached and ordered by the court on November 8, 2004. The agreement
that was signed by all parties, allowed Lee to live at home under Casey and Marilyn's care and there would be no conservator.
Lee's
court appointed attorney, John T. Rogers Jr. had begun to collude with those who controlled the money, those who were working against
his client. Rogers refused to meet with his client again, despite several requests.
Judge Stoever retired soon afterwards.
Rogers knew of Judge Stoever's impending retirement.
Casey Peters received an email from Michael Peters - "Congratulations.
While mom is living at home with you, she will outlive me and you will get the house."
BREACHING THE AGREEMENT
Michael
Peters, Stephen Peters, Kathryn Pruessner Peters and Nora Hamill breached the agreement when they supported a petition for conservatorship
filed by John Rogers for the appointment of Frumeh Labow.
JUDGE AVIVA K. BOBB INSTITUTIONALIZES LEE PETERS AGAINST HER WILL
On
April 20, 2005 and in violation of probate code 2253(g) Lee Peters was evicted from her home of nearly 50 years by probate judge Aviva
K. Bobb.
Bobb ordered Lee into isolation. No family contact for 2 weeks. This was devasting for blind Lee
who also suffered from Alzheimers disease. Lee cried out "Casey, Casey, where is Casey". Bobb ordered Lee into a facility
where she knew no-one and the attendants had thick European acccents Lee could not understand. When Lee protested her move,
they drugged her to shut her up. They changed Lee's diet and caused her to develop severe constipation, dehydration, edema,
urinary tract infections and gingivitis. They stopped this lifelong dancer from exercising and stopped her daily half aspirin
regime. Her legs began to turn purple and became painful.
EX-PARTE MOTION FOR MEDICAL CARE
Conservator Labow ignored
Casey and Marilyn's pleas for Lee to get the medical care she needed. Lee's medical care was free.
December 2005
Casey and Marilyn filed an ex-parte motion for Lee's painful, dark purple legs be diagnosed and treated. Judge Aviva K. Bobb
denied the motion. Frumeh Labow resigned as conservator.
JOHN T. ROGERS RESIGNS DURING TRUST HEARING
February 8, 2006John T. Rogers Jr. quickly resigns when evidence is presented to the court of the crimes committed by the parties he had colluded
with. Rogers should have told the court that he had made a mistake and that Lee Peters should be allowed to go home. Instead,
he turned and ran, leaving Lee in the horrible situation in which he had placed her.
JUDGE AVIVA K. BOBB APPOINTS INVESTIGATIVE
ATTORNEY
March 2006 the court appoints attorney Linda Paquette and asks Ms. Paquette to investigate Lee Peters' situation and
bring the court a recommendation.
Ms. Paquette's investigation was thorough and she recommended that little weight should be
given to the 1997 documents that empowered Nora Hamill and Kathryn Pruessner Peters and that Nora Hamill should NOT be Lee Peters
conservator.
JUDGE AVIVA K. BOBB RULES AGAINST INVESTIGATIVE ATTORNEY
In a brief hearing and taking no testimony, Judge
Aviva K. Bobb ruled against the investigator and HANDED LEE PETERS A DEATH SENTENCE when she appointed Nora Hamill and Kathryn Pruessner
as co-conservators.
LEE PETERS DIES A PAINFULLY LONELY DEATH
Judge Aviva K. Bobb and the co-conservators she appointed denied
Lee Peters' vital medical care which directly resulted in Lee's death.
LEE PETERS WAS MURDERED ON DECEMBER 28, 2006
Soon
after Lee Peters was murdered, Nora Hamill and Kathryn Pruessner sold Lee Peters' house for $942,000. The true heirs to Lee's
estate have received none of their entitlements.
